Popular Nigerian singers,
Olamide and Lil Kesh, are currently receiving major backlash for their new song
which most people believe is promoting ritual killings and illegal means to
make money.
While Nigerian songs may have
one of the best dance hall beats in the world, one of the problems the Nigerian
music industry is faced with is the lack of rich lyrics. From promoting alcohol
and other substance abuse to berating women, the list seems endless.
Currently trending on social
media is a song titled ‘Logo Benz’ by Olamide and Lil Kesh which has proven to
be quite the controversy within few hours of its release. While these singers
have a huge fan base, not so many people are happy with the new release as they
suggests it promotes ritual killings and blood money.
This is clearly reflected in the first part of the song chorus
which says
“If money no enter, I go do blood money.” This
has angered a lot of music lovers as they have taken to the social media to
condemn the song, criticizing the singer for promoting one of the vices that
have since become a fundamental issue in the country.
While
some OAPs like Toolz have since promoted the song, Cool FM Head of music, PH,
Patterson has come out to condemn the song.
He
tweeted: “Please what
absolute filth is this “Logo Benz” song?! My moral standards aren’t the highest
but my conscience can’t even let me play this on radio.”

Why is the new Lil Kesh and Olamide song
promoting/glorifying ritual killings/blood money?? Why must you use terrible
lyrics like this??
“If money no enter i go do blood money”
“If money no enter i go do blood money”
There
needs to be a line that you can’t cross when it comes to lyrics in music. This
is one of them.
Olamide is a cancer to the Nigerian music
industry and youths in general

Seriki will come first for me before any rapper that claims to be king of
street.
Being
